Uses of Dimensional Analysis
Fluid Mechanics
(i) To solve any complex physical problems.
USES OF DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS (i) To solve any complex physical problems. (ii) To convert the theoritical equation into a simple dimensionless form (iii) To convert the units of quantities from one system to the another system. (iv) To facilitate model testing by reducing the number of variables into three primary quantities. (v) To reduce the number of variables involved in a physical problems. The performance of experiment becomes easy due to this reduction of variables. (vi) To test the dimensional homogeneity of any equation of fluid motion. (vii) To derive the rational formulae for a flow phenomenon. (viii) To derive the equations expressed interms of parameters to show the relative significance of each parameters.
