Some problems of fluid mechanics are very complex in nature and also very difficult to solve.
NEED OF DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS Some problems of fluid mechanics are very complex in nature and also very difficult to solve. The solution of such problems is considerably simplified by the use of dimensional analysis. Model investigation is also a technique used to find out the behavior (or) performance of the actual structure (or) prototypes. This investigation is also based on dimensional analysis. So knowledge of dimensional analysis is need for model analysis. The uses of dimensional analysis are essential for testing dimensional homogeneity of any equation of fluid motion, deriving equations interms of non-dimensional parameters to study the relative significance of each parameters planning model tests and study the actual behaviours of the prototype.
