IMPORTANCE OF ENGINEERING GRAPHICS All the types of engineering drawing, explained in the previous article are to be prepared by following the standards which are internationally accepted. Engineering drawing is the language of engineers through which the Designers and Architects communicate their ideas and innovations with each other. Like any other verbal language engineering drawing also has its grammar with respect to the types of lines, lettering, dimensioning etc., The drawings thus prepared by an engineer can be executed at the site (or) industry, only when it is readable by the supervisors and technicians involved in the execution of work at site (or) industry. Hence Engineering Graphics is one among the most important courses of all studies for engineering. The fundamental concepts of Engineering Graphics and the general rules governed by certain code of practices related to theory of projection, dimensioning, lettering which are required to acquire as prerequisits to draw any type of engineering drawing are dealt in this textbook.
