i) Based on the application, Engineering Graphics can be classified as Geometrical drawing ii) Mechanical Engineering drawing iii) Civil Engineering drawing iv) Architectural drawing v) Electrical & Electronics Engineering drawing etc.,
CLASSIFICATION OF ENGINEERING DRAWING i) Based on the application, Engineering Graphics can be classified as Geometrical drawing ii) Mechanical Engineering drawing iii) Civil Engineering drawing iv) Architectural drawing v) Electrical & Electronics Engineering drawing etc., Geometrical drawing (Fig. 1.1) is the art of representation of geometrical objects such as square, cube, cylinder etc., Geometrical drawing can further be divided into two groups, Plane Geometrical drawing (objects having two dimensions like square, rectangle etc.,) and Solid Geometrical drawing (objects having three dimensions like cone, cube etc..,) Mechanical Engineering Drawing (or) Machine Drawing is the art of representation of Mechanical Engineering objects such as Machines, Machine parts etc., A typical machine drawing is shown in Fig. 1.2. Civil Engineering drawing is the art of representation of civil engineering objects such as Buildings, Roads, Dams etc., A Typical Civil Engineering drawing is shown in Fig. 1.3. Architectural drawing is the art of representation of architectural aspects of an object, generally prepared by an Architect. A typical architectural drawing is shown in Fig. 1.4. 1. Living 2. Courtyard 3. Dining 4. Entertainment area 5. Bedroom 6. Bathroom 7. Kitchen 8. Utility 9. Garage Electrical Engineering drawing is the art of representation of electrical objects such as motors, generators etc., and Electronic engineering drawing is the art of representation of electronic circuits of Television, Computer etc., A Typical examples of electrical and electronics engineering drawings are shown in Fig. 1.5 and Fig. 1.6. respectively.
