HYDRAULIC MOTOR PERFORMANCE CURVES

• The characteristic curves of a particular rotary hydraulic motor are nearly identical with those of the corresponding hydraulic pump.

• Typical characteristic curves for spur-gear hydraulic motor is given in Fig.5.16.

• Fig.5.17 shows the characteristic operating curves for a vane type hydraulic motor.

• Fig.5.18 shows a typical performance curve for a piston type hydraulic motor.

Note

In many applications, the fluid power circuit consists of some suitable combination of pump and motor with the necessary piping. These are known as fluid transmission devices. A fluid transmission is a device which converts mechanical power into fluid power, transports this power, and then converts it back into mechanical power.
