Crystal Systems (or Types of Crystals)

All crystals are classified into seven systems on the basis of the shape of the unit cells.

CRYSTAL SYSTEMS (OR TYPES OF CRYSTALS)

All crystals are classified into seven systems on the basis of the shape of the unit cells. These seven basic crystal systems are distinguished from one another by the angles between the three axes and the intercepts of the faces along them.

The Table 0.1 shows the seven basic crystal systems along with their characteristics.
