State of a system

Thermodynamics

State is the condition of the system at any particular moment.

STATE OF A SYSTEM

State is the condition of the system at any particular moment. The state is identified by the properties of the system such as pressure, volume, temperature etc. At a given state, all properties of the system have fixed values. Even if the value of one property changes, the state of the system will change to a different state which is called a change of state.
