REQUIREMENTS FOR PERSPECTIVE PROJECTION

To draw the perspective view of an object either by Visual ray method (or) Vanishing point method following are the required data with respect to the object and position of observer.

1. Top view and Front view (or side view) of the object.

2. Location of the station point (also called as the point of sight (or) observer) with respect to the object in three dimensions.

3. Location of the picture plane with respect to the object in three dimensions.

It is to be noted that the perspective projections can be drawn for points, straight lines, plane figures and solid figures.

Perspective projections of both plane and solid figures by both visual ray method and vanishing point method are described in this text book.
