RELATION BETWEEN Cp, Cv AND R

The ratio two specific heat Cp/Cv is denoted by the letter gama (γ).

⸫   γ = Cp/Cv             ...(1.59)

Its value is generally taken as 1.4 for air. The difference between two specific heats is denoted by letter R (characteristic gas constant) Cp - Cv = R.
