The phenomenon where the incident light falling from one medium on a surface of another medium is sent back to the same medium is known as reflection.
REFLECTION OF LIGHT WAVES (i) The phenomenon where the incident light falling from one medium on a surface of another medium is sent back to the same medium is known as reflection. (ii) The angle between the incident ray and the normal to the surface is known as angle of incidence. (iii) The angle between the reflected ray and the normal of the surface is known as angle of reflection. (Fig 4.1) (i) Incident ray, normal and reflected ray lie in the same plane. (ii) The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection i.e.
