The above said drawbacks of the non-separator type accumulators can be eliminated in the separator type accumulators by providing a barrier between the pressurizing gas and the hydraulic fluid.

SEPARATOR TYPE ACCUMULATORS

• The above said drawbacks of the non-separator type accumulators can be eliminated in the separator type accumulators by providing a barrier between the pressurizing gas and the hydraulic fluid.

• The separator pneumatic-loaded accumulators are the most commonly used. Because they are small, light weight and can be mounted in any position.

• Types: Based on the barrier used, the separator type accumulators can be classified into three types, as :

1. Piston type accumulator,

2. Diaphragm type accumulator, and

3. Bladder type accumulator.
