pressure reducing/regulating valve

What is a Pressure Reducing Valve ?

As the name suggests, a pressure reducing valve is used to supply a prescribed reduced outlet pressure in a circuit and to maintain it at a constant value.

PRESSURE REDUCING/REGULATING VALVE

1. What is a Pressure Reducing Valve ?

As the name suggests, a pressure reducing valve is used to supply a prescribed reduced outlet pressure in a circuit and to maintain it at a constant value.

Generally this type of valves are used in multi-pressure systems where some part of the circuit is required to operate at a reduced pressure.

1. Types of Pressure Reducing Valves

Like in pressure relief valves, the two important types of pressure reducing valves are :

1. Direct-acting pressure reducing valve, and

2. Pilot-operated pressure reducing valve.
