Analysis of KW Power Loss Across the Pressure Relief Valve The kW power loss across the pressure relief valve (also for the unloading valve) can be determined by using the relation : where P = Valve pressure setting in kPa, and Q = Outlet flow rate in m3/s. Note It should be noted that there are no valves available for increasing the system pressure. As discussed above, it is possible only to have a valve which will reduce the system pressure.
