NECESSITY OF DEVELOPMENT OF SURFACES

In engineering practice a large number of objects like funnel, tray, box, chimney, drum, storage tanks, ducts of airconditioner etc. are made of metal sheets. These solid objects are formed by cutting a metal sheet (ie., plane area) into pieces of appropriate shapes and sizes and then properly joined by riveting or welding. This process is known as `Fabrication of objects'. Hence a thorough knowledge on development of the solid should be known then only the metal sheet can be cut into pieces of appropriate shapes and sizes, to join by riveting (or) welding.
