Read the sample conversations below. You will find people conversing in different situations. Pay attention to the expressions used to perform these functions and answer the questions given at the end of each conversation. 

Sample Conversation-1 (At the Railway Reservation Counter)

Answer the following questions briefly:

1. Where does Ramesh want to go?

2. When does he want to go?

3. How many berths does he need?

4. What does the reservation clerk tell Ramesh regarding his reservation on 15th April?

5. Which alternative date(s) does the clerk suggest to Ramesh?

6. Which date does Ramesh finally decide to travel on?

7. Why does the reservation clerk tell Ramesh to complete the reservation form quickly?

Sample Conversation-2 (At the Departmental Store)

There are three choices for each question. Tick the choice you consider to be correct.

1. What does the sales girl suggest to the customer?

a. To have a look at their newly created 'Ladies Corner’ 

b. To go around their store and select whatever he wants 

c. To go around their newly created ladies ‘corner for selection of lipsticks for his wife.
